It was a very proud night for the SJHL Iron Horse Kindersley Klippers as the Kindersley Chamber of Commerce held its annual KBEX Business Awards last night (Friday, November 6, 2015) at the Kindersley Inn.
The Klippers received the KBEX Lend A Hand Award for their commitment and efforts in and around the Kindersley community. In addition, Rocky Perkins won Citizen of the Year for his efforts on behalf of the 2014 World Jr. A Championship hosted by Kindersley.
“It was a tremendous night for our organization” noted GM/Head Coach Geoff Grimwood. “We have so much support in our community from the business sector and it is impossible to thank everyone individually”.
“In this case however, the efforts of Rocky Perkins and everyone involved in the World Junior A Challenge need to be recognized. The club will certainly be recognizing Rocky and the committee publicly and formally in the near future.”
The KBEX Lend A Hand Award was presented to the team captains, Branden Schiedl, Dexter Bricker, Cody Young, and Dereck Morrell who were in attendance representing their teammates.
“Our players have embraced a commitment to representing the Klippers and being prominent members of the community. We recognize the support we have and we try to support the community in the same way”, said Geoff Grimwood.
“I feel very indebted to thank our players and thank our Marketing Director / Business Manager – Dale Roth. Dale’s efforts have been tremendous and the players have bought in. We are extremely lucky to play in a community that supports us in this way, and want to recognize that support”, Geoff Grimwood
The Team would also like to extend our appreciation & respect to fellow nominees: Royal Canadian Legion Branch 57, Rotary Club, Western Abilities, Great Plains College & West Central Crisis Centre.
